Time trial bikes are built for speed, not comfort, so you’ll be bent low over the bars, and your back and hamstrings will be working much harder than they would on a road bike. “The biggest challenge in time trialing is finding a position that’s comfortable enough while still being aerodynamic, and being able to stay in it for long rides,” says Vermeulen.
